Hi, my name is Joey Simon.  I am in the 7th grade at El Rodeo, where my favorite subject is science.  My parents are Cheryl Zoller-Simon and Jon Simon and I have a kitten named, Cookie.

I love playing basketball and football in my local recreational leagues and was thrilled that my team won the Football Championship last year!

For my mitzvah project I am volunteering at NKLA Pet Adoption Center and am raising funds to help their cause.  The reason I chose this adoption center is because this is where I got Cookie and it is one of the only centers in Los Angeles that preserves the life of the animals that are not adopted.

I would like to thank my parents, Shelly Kamara, Rabbi Aaron, Rabbi Bassin and Cantor Weiss for their support in helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.
