Join us for an information-packed afternoon with Mona Field, Co-President of the Los Angeles League of Women Voters who will take us through: The Sample Ballot (bring yours!) This election is not just about voting for U.S. President, as consequential as that is. The ballot also contains important state, county and local measures as well candidates seeking office for Congress, State Senate, judgeships and more. New Rules With 11 Days to Vote If you live in Los Angeles County, you will vote on completely new machines and at a choice of voting centers, not just in your neighborhood. Learn more. The 2020 Census Mona will explain the purpose of the Census and what to expect. You will learn: How an accurate--or inaccurate--count may affect highways schools, social programs and housing. Why it’s hard to get an accurate count in Los Angeles County. That the Census determines the number of California representatives sent to Congress and may potentially affect which Congressional District represents you. The Relationship of the U.S. Census to the Electoral College and how that may affect who sits in the White House in future Presidential elections
