Why Anti-Semitism Matters to More than Just Jews
Location: Bess P. Maltz Center
Date: Wed, October 9
Time: 2:45 pm - 4:00 pm
Anti-Semitism is on the rise as a global phenomenon, and while Jews are worried, we must recognize we are not alone in our plight or alarm. We must have the conversation about hate beyond our echo chamber to understand its implications for Jews and non-Jews alike. Two non-Jewish experts will contextualize why anti-Semitism matters to society at large. Eric Ward of the Western States Center and Mehnaz Afridi, author of The Shoah Through Muslim Eyes, will help us discern how anti-Semitism manifests across the political spectrum. What are the root issues that merit our attention, and how can the Jewish community be more strategic and effective in combating the rise of anti-Semitism in a world of growing extremism?
This is the first of three Behrendt Conversations this year.
