Join OUR Intergenerational Group

Now in our ninth year, the Sisterhood of Emanuel is an intergenerational women’s group. Rooted in the principles of Reform Judaism, our mission is to build a strong, compassionate, and socially conscious community focused on making a positive imprint on one another and the world through friendship and action. Celebrate the women in our community with events such as Sisters in the Sukkah, Sisterhood Challah Bakes, Sisterhood Shabbat, and more. To get involved, please email us at [email protected].

Purpose, positIvity, and Punchlines Shabbaton
SaturDAY, June 6 | 12 p.m.

Join the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood for their annual  Shabbaton!

We are so excited to invite you to our upcoming Sisterhood Retreat on Saturday, June 6—a meaningful and inspiring day of connection, reflection, and community. Not to mention, FUN!

We will gather at 12 p.m. for a delicious Shabbat lunch as we begin our afternoon together. This year, we are especially honored to welcome acclaimed author and wellness expert Caroline Welch as our featured guest speaker.

Caroline’s first book, The Gift of Presence: A Mindfulness Guide for Women provides a timely, practical guide for moving from chaos to calm. Through her easy and caring presence, she will help us investigate our personal connection to her “3 Ps” framework of Purpose, Pivoting, and Pacing. We will have some books on hand to purchase, or feel free to purchase in advance.

Her work has been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine, MindBodyGreen, and Maria Shriver’s The Sunday Paper, among others.

Next, actress and comedian Melissa Greenspan will lead us in an exercise celebrating our delightfully unique selves. We will explore this idea through the lens of Judaism’s rich tradition of humor.

While the official retreat concludes at 3:30 p.m., we encourage everyone to truly embrace the gift of Shabbat by remaining in community and enjoying this sacred space throughout the afternoon.

Optional afternoon offerings include:

3:30–4:30 p.m.
Restorative yoga with Michelle Aaron (comfortable clothes)

3:30–6 p.m.
Quiet reflection, reading, rest, perhaps a walk to a local restaurant

6:30 p.m.
Sound Bath Havdalah
