Mitzvah Corps

We are excited to announce the launch of Temple Emanuel’s Mitzvah Corps! The next step in our many years of Tikkun Olam initiatives, and led by Cantor Lizzie Weiss, this group will combine our caring and social action programming. From meal trains to care for our community here at home, to lunch drives for those experiencing food insecurity across the city, supporting Israel across the globe, to caring for refugees at our border, there are so many ways to help heal our world.

At home

  • Help us make Refuah Shlema and Mazal Tov Cards that will bring comfort to members of Temple Emanuel.
  • Put together and deliver comfort packages for ill members of our community
  • Create Baby Gift Baskets for the newest members of our tribe

IN our city

  • Assemble Safe Care Kits for newly Housed Los Angelenos.
  • Make Lunches for the Hollywood Food Coalition.
  • Work with City Greens Community Farm to plant beautiful flower pots which our religious students will bring to residents of the Carmel Assisted Living
  • Imagine LA

at our border

  • Create “no sew” blankets for refugees and asylum seekers who arrive at the JFS San Diego Rapid Response Shelter.
