DONATE TO SOVA OR ESPERANZA IMMIGRANT Organization

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills is supporting two very worthwhile organizations this year. You are welcome to come by the temple between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to drop off donations of non-perishable food items for SOVA or you may do so online. Diapers, formula, sanitary items, school supplies, and other necessities in support of Esperanza may be purchased online only to be delivered directly to the organization.

SOVA

Much more than a food pantry, JFS | SOVA provides free groceries and an array of supportive services to over 9,000 individuals of all ages, ethnicities and religion each month. At SOVA’s two comprehensive service centers in the Los Angeles area, they offer sustenance, opportunity, volunteerism, and advocacy. Donate your non-perishable food items to SOVA and drop them off at the temple between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. You can also make a donation online by clicking hereClick here to see a list of needed food items.

ESPERANZA EMERGENCY FUND

Temple Emanuel is proud to continue our partnership with Esperanza — a local organization that supports unaccompanied minors who have come to the United States in recent years.  We want to help these children and teenagers with extra little support to feel like normal children with some of the things we take for granted — everything from soccer balls to lip gloss.  Please scan the list below and bring what you can to the Temple over the high holidays or purchase through our Amazon registry.

  • School Supplies (backpacks, notebooks, pencil cases, highlighters, pens, scientific calculators, etc.) *can backpacks be either new or used?
  • Books (Spanish and English) *new or gently used?
  • Art supplies (new markers, crayons, colored pencils, drawing paper, etc.)
  • Sports equipment (new or gently used soccer balls, cleats, etc.)
  • Self-care and personal items for teens (new makeup, lip gloss, face masks, essential oils, scented candles, etc.)
