Hello! I am Amanda Silver, an 8th grade student at Paul Revere Middle School. My parents are Sharon and Evan Silver. My dad had his Bar Mitzvah at Temple Emanuel too. I have a younger brother, Grant, who is in 6th grade. We enjoy taking our dog Coco out for walks together. She is a Golden Shepard. In my free time I enjoy playing softball, tennis, and swimming. I love playing second base for my softball team in the West LA Little League, and I hit my first home run when I was 10. Next year, I hope to make the JV softball team for my high school. I also just started playing volleyball. When I’m not playing sports, I love going to the beach, traveling, musical theatre, reading and hanging out with my friends. I have traveled to Italy, and many states, including New York which I visit twice a year to see my family. My favorite subject in school is history.
For my Bat Mitzvah project, I am collecting food for the hungry. I will be partnering with the Westside Food Bank whose goal is to end hunger in our community.
I would like to thank Rabbi Aaron, Cantor Weiss, Kalanit Kamara, and of course, my parents, who have all helped me on my journey to the bima.
