I am a 7th grader at The Geffen Academy. I have a strong passion for tennis, karate, Dungeons & Dragons, skiing and reading.
My parents are Greg and Samantha Lombardo. I have a 9-year-old sister named Shayna. I also have a bearded dragon named Clay. For my bar mitzvah project, I am raising money and awareness for underprivileged kids who are food insecure. I decided on this cause after fasting for Yom Kippur. I was very hungry and tired but I realized I was lucky enough to have the ability to eat and have access to food when I was ready to break fast. It was then that I recognized that many kids across the world go hungry and don’t have the resources to get a meal, therefore they often have to attend school hungry, making it harder to learn. No kid should suffer and be without food.
I would like to thank Rabbi Aaron, Cantor Weiss, Shelly Kamara, and Laurie Goodman for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah and my Mom, Dad and sister for their support and love.
Don’t fear failure. Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail. -Bruce Lee
