In Loving Memory of Richard Siegel

Rabbi Jonathan Aaron

Richard Siegal, beloved husband of Rabbi Laura Geller, passed away on the evening of Thursday, July 12, 2018, surrounded by family. Below are the words shared with the community and congregation. Information regarding the funeral service, shiva and where to make a donation are below.

It is with an extremely heavy and saddened heart that I inform you of the passing of Richard Siegel, husband of Rabbi Laura Geller, yesterday after a long battle with cancer.

Richard was more than a significant and central member of our synagogue and prayer community ever since he came to Los Angeles. He was our friend, and his presence will be missed by all of us in the Temple Emanuel and ChaiVillageLA families, which he and Rabbi Geller began together.

Our prayers are now with the Siegel and Geller families as they begin their mourning process, and we offer them the feelings of love and wholeness that Richard brought to them in his life.

May his memory be for a blessing.

                                                                     – Rabbi Jonathan Aaron
