Ava Sassaman Abrams’ Bat Mitzvah – May 4, 2019

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

ava sassman abrams temple emanuel bat mitzvahI am in 7th grade at Brentwood School. I love gymnastics, and I am on a competitive Club Team. I spend 6 days, and 23 hours a week training. I also enjoy playing piano and guitar and hanging out with my friends.

My parents are Nicole Sassaman, and Judd Abrams. I have 2 dogs, and 2 cats. For my Bat Mitzvah project, I am going to be working and helping out with PETA, an organization that helps protect animals and raises animal awareness. They help out with animal rights because they feel since animals cannot powerfully speak up for themselves, they will speak for them to protect them from being treated in a cruel manner. I am very proud to say that I will be helping out with this organization.

I would like to thank Rabbi Aaron, Cantor Weiss, Eden Robenpour and my parents for helping me make this special day possible.

One of my favorite quotes is from Gabby Douglass, who was a USA gold medalist in gymnastics. She said, “Hard days are the best because that’s when champions are made. If you push through the hard days, then you can get through anything.”

“Be strong when you are weak, brave when you are scared, and humble when you are victorious.” – Gabby Douglass
