I am a 7th grader at Beverly Vista Middle School. I love STEM, food (both cooking and eating), and sambo. My parents are Ken and Michal Salkin. I have a twin sister named Margalit. I love spending time with my family.
For my mitzvah project, I am volunteering at School on Wheels. School on Wheels is a non-profit organization that tutors homeless children. Volunteers have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with the kids by teaching them. From the time I started volunteering, I have taught over 30 kids of all races from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Helping these children has given me a larger perspective of the world and the difficulties therein. School on Wheels takes a challenge and turns it into a success.
I would like to thank Rabbi Lutz, Cantor Weiss, Shelly Kamara, my sister Margo, and Robert Pflug for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.
