Felix Otto Bar Mitzvah-November 21, 2020

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

Hi, my name is Felix Otto. My parents are Elizabeth Gabbay and Greg Otto. I have an awesome dog named Buddy who looks like a dalmatian puppy but he’s actually an Australian Cattle Dog.  I am an 8th grader at New West Charter. My favorite subjects are science and digital design. I enjoy playing video games, playing the piano, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends.

For my Mitzvah Project I am working on planting trees in Los Angeles. I’m passionate about it and chose to do it because a YouTuber that I follow planted 20 million trees, which I thought was awesome.  I learned that every eight or so trees accounts for one person’s for oxygen intake in their lifetime so the more trees the better.  Since we’ve taken so much from the Earth, I thought it was a good way to give back.

Also, I want to thank Rabbi Bassin, Cantor Weiss, and Shelly Kamara for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.

I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues.
