Jonah Nourafchan Bar Mitzvah – December 5, 2020

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

My name is Jonah Nourafchan and I will be become a Bar Mitzvah on December 5, 2020. I am currently in 8th grade at Brentwood School. I love to cook, play video games, and spend time with friends and family. My parents, Jenus and George, and my three siblings, Gabriella, Lauren, and Alexa are all very excited to celebrate my special day with me.

For my mitzvah project, I want to donate a portion of my gifts to homeless shelters so that they can provide the necessary items, like food and water, to the homeless they are sheltering. I would like to do this because every time I leave my house, whether it’s to go to breakfast, or to a friend’s house, I always see the homeless out on the street looking for food, water or shelter and it breaks my heart. Since I am so lucky to have all of those necessities, I would like to help the homeless have access to these necessities too.

I would like to thank Rabbi Aaron, Cantor Weiss, Shelly Kamara and Karen Porper for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah. I would also like to thank my mom and dad for their love and support.

If you do not believe in yourself no one will do it for you. – Kobe Bryant
