I am an 8th grader at Beverly Vista Middle School. I enjoy playing baseball and video games and hanging out with friends. My parents are Yael and Geoff Rendon. I have a 15-year-old sister named Maya, and a labradoodle named Callie who I love spending time with.
For my mitzvah project, I worked with an organization called Sharsheret, a charity that focuses on breast cancer awareness. They provide resources to women and men diagnosed with this disease. To support Sharsheret, I built a website, did a presentation, and raised money which I used to purchase toys for children whose moms were battling breast cancer. Working with Sharsheret has given me a newfound appreciation for how fortunate I am, and how important it is to help others in need.
I would like to thank Rabbi Aaron, Cantor Weiss, Shelly Kamara, and Laurie Goodman for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.
