Joseph Vivanco Bar Mitzvah – December 1, 2023

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

I am a 7th grader at Beverly Vista Middle School. I love to draw and make my own comic books. I also like to sing, play board-games, cook/bake, and play sports. I love to travel and explore other countries. My parents are Raquel and Jose Vivanco.

For my Bar Mitzvah project, I’m working with “Tzedek America” to develop a program focusing on senior citizens who are many times forgotten. I got inspired by my grandmother. My project will consist of making drawings or mini comic books, or even just cards for the nursing homes to enrich and bring some happiness to the elderly. By doing this, it has made me very happy towards the elderly who I hope will enjoy these gifts of kindness.

I would like to thank Rabbi Aaron, Rabbi Alban, Cantor Weiss, Allison Bluestein, Shelly Kamara, and Karen Porper for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.

Memories are like colors,  when they’re drawn they become beautiful.-Joseph
