Sela Aaron’s Bat Mitzvah, March 17, 2018

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

I am a 7th grader at Emerson Community Charter. I like to play guitar, be with kids, run, and spend time with my family. My parents are Jonathan and Michelle Aaron and I have an older sister, Adina, who is 16.

For my Bat Mitzvah project, I have been volunteering with the dogs at Wags and Walks Adoption Center in West LA. I go there every week to play with and walk the different dogs, as well as to keep track of their individual needs and clean their kennels. In order to help raise money for their terrific organization, I will be baking different types of challah loaves to sell on Sunday, March 4th and 11th during religious school hours (9:00 am – 12:15 pm). Feel free to come by and buy one to support the dogs who need a home!

I would like to thank Cantor Lizzie Weiss, Rabbi Sarah Bassin, Laurie Goodman, Tannaz Lavian, and my family for helping me prepare for my Bat Mitzvah.

To help give back to my wonderful temple community, I am hoping to start a mini-childcare program one service a month, so that children can be play during Shabbat services.
