I am in 7th grade at The Buckley School. I like playing baseball, football, basketball and hanging out with my friends. My parents are Holly and Rich Shuter. I have a younger brother, Zach who is 10.
For my Mitzvah Project, I chose to create a fundraiser for Pitch In For Baseball (PIFB). PIFB is a charity that collects and buys baseball equipment and sends it to communities and schools where kids can’t afford to buy it themselves. Over the years, PIFB has donated more than $9 million in equipment to help over 800,000 kids play ball in every state and 100 countries worldwide. For these kids, baseball would show them teamwork, they would have fun, and have some physical activity outside.
PIFB helps me achieve my goal of sharing my love for baseball. I am asking for my family and my friends to help, by donating to this cause.
I would like to thank Rabbi Lutz, Rabbi Bassin, Cantor Weiss and Kalanit Kamara for helping me prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.
“My motto was to always keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.” – Hank Aaron
